BRFC Action Group - you don't speak for me

I am too weary and sad about what the witless Venky's have done to my beloved Blackburn Rovers. I am at risk of repeating myself.

Indeed, here is what I said just over a year ago:

This is what Venky's should do now. They should turn round to the protesting fans, and to John Williams, and to Tom Finn, to Ian Battersby, Ian Currie, Wayne Wild and Roger Devlin and say, "Sorry, we just didn't understand English football. We cocked up. Have your club back. We're sorry."

But those protesting fans have somewhat splintered. We had the disgraceful scene this morning of self-appointed fans spokesman Glen Mullan commenting on Radio5Live about the "downward spiral" and saying "someone needs to be accountable", without ever criticising the ownership of the club by Venky's or their appointee Shebby Singh. This is a guy who shared a platform with Shebby Singh.

No, the only serious option is for all Rovers fans to get behind a serious and concerted effort to rid the club of these idiots and pursue a supporter ownership model. It won't get us back to the top of the premiership, it won't attract top talent, but it will restore dignity where currently there is none.

Ridiculas blog.

There is that many people accountable I would of been on the Radio a week listing them, which is not what the interview was about.
Plus I think you should get your facts right about who brought Berg to the table.
The club is a mess from the top down, the decision to appoint Berg was a £100 Million Gamble gone wrong.
You speak of everyone backing a supporter takeover, but firstly there has to be sellers, secondly there has to be at least £40 million in purchase cash, let alone the money for the club to operate. Their idea of selling high earners for a £1 is just stupid. We want a well run club, but not at the expense of it being league 2.

Glen,
That's the point. You don't have a week when you are asked on to BBC Radio5Live. You have a few minutes to sum up your point and get to the main issue. You failed. Talking about Rovers and not mentioning the Venky's, or your new pal Shebby Singh is a gross misuse of that platform for someone who purports to speak as the chairman of an "action group".

What facts have I got wrong about "who brought Berg to the table"? I have no idea. I don't operate in the cloak and dagger world of hints and secret meetings and late night off the record phone calls? The only facts I can deal with are the ones I hear and those in the media I can believe. Maybe that makes me ridiculous and worthy of your contempt, but I'm just the same as the 1000s of other fans who are appalled at how these people are destroying our club.
I have been on Radio Manchester and Radio Lancashire and said it. It's not hard. "Blackburn Rovers are being destroyed by incompetent owners from India." I have been consistent since the start of the Venky's circus. While you were protesting about Steve Kean and personalising the whole issue and letting these clowns off the hook, while you were gurning with delight as Shebby Singh humiliated the club once more with his comments about MGP and helping Steve Kean build a constructive dismissal case, more and more people, like me and my family, were staying away.
You have gone native and allowed smarter and more devious people to play you like a fiddle. You should have kept it public, dealt with the core issue - that's what all political strategies do. You failed.
Give it up Glen, you are now part of the problem, part of this whole circus.
You may believe that the Rao family can be persuaded to come good. They can't. They are now a cancer on our club, just as the string of owners of Portsmouth were on theirs. Being ready for their capitulation isn't stupid. It's brave, it's far sighted and it's about being ready for the moment financial meltdown comes.
That's just given me EVEN MORE reason to support a new ownership structure, backed by the supporters, yes, why not?
Why on earth would a club in the lower reaches of the Championship be worth £40m. I know about company valuations and the value is diminishing by the day. No-one will pay anything like that. Venky's have damaged their brand, they have been taken for fools and have dipped into a business they are ill equipped for.
We want a well run club we can be proud of. One owned by Venky's will never be that club.

Glen is right about the trust, its a non starter and something that the people who head it are also a part of the problem, its not about "our club" its about "I want to be on TV Too, and I want to feel important", you also don't speak for me so don't try, the 1000s you speak off are sick of trusts and groups etc,

The 'pledges' the trusts report they have are just that, of the people that have pledged only about 20% will actually honour them, and I know for certain that some of those that have pledged have never seen a thousand pound, its all just pointless, while an idea in theory not an idea that will ever be reality, not to mention you'd be lucky to drum up 50.000 in the current climate, they should just give it up as an ideal, but come on, honestly, even they know its not going to happen, but the personal ego boost they're getting is fine.

You might be right, but it's a far more constructive aim than "Kean Out".

The BRFC Action Group only claims to represent it's members, not the whole fanbase.

Right, that's enough now. Sorry folks, I should have stopped it earlier, but it's got too personal and too shouty. That's not what my blog is about.

As for delaying putting comments up - I was at Barnsley today. Great win.
